Pinetrees is centrally located so it makes an ideal base. The lagoon beach is just across the road for your early morning swim in clean, clear water. Our Boatshed is right on the lagoon in front of Pinetrees and is a great place for a cool drink as the sun sets. You are only a short bike ride from the golf course or the champagne surf at Blinky, or a lazy day at Lovers Bay. In the other direction there are cafes, museum, bowling green, shops, post office, and churches. Stretch out on Old Settlement Beach or check out Neds Beach where you can hand-feed the fish. Climb to the top of Mt Gower (875 m) with island guides. See Woodhens or winter-nesting Providence Petrels on the forest track to Little Island. Fish from the shore or on a deep-sea fishing boat. Cruise around the island
and visit smaller off-shore islands crammed with nesting birds. |
